DIANE PONTIOUS, CPP

ABOUT

Professional photography is often the first impression a community, organization, or business makes.

For more than 20 years, I have worked throughout Connecticut creating photography for corporations, healthcare systems, municipalities, tourism organizations, hospitality venues, real estate professionals, and economic development initiatives. My work helps organizations communicate who they are, what they do, and why people choose to live, work, visit, invest, and engage with them. Currently, I am the photographer for the Central Regional District of Connecticut.

My photography supports:

• Economic development and community marketing

• Tourism and destination promotion

• Corporate communications and executive visibility

• Healthcare and clinical environments

• Architecture, real estate, and workplace photography

• Municipal facilities and public spaces

• Leadership and environmental portraiture

Whether documenting a waterfront district, photographing a business environment, showcasing a public facility, capturing architectural detail, or creating executive portraits, the goal remains the same: to create professional, authentic imagery that serves a purpose and tells a compelling story.

I studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where I developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling, composition, lighting, and visual communication.

My background includes nearly two decades working in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments where preparation, awareness, professionalism, and attention to detail were essential. Those experiences continue to shape how I approach every assignment today.

Throughout my career, I have worked with healthcare systems, Fortune 500 companies, regional businesses, municipalities, tourism organizations, and major hospitality destinations, including extensive photography work at area casinos such as Mohegan Sun. These assignments have included corporate events, marketing campaigns, architectural photography, entertainment venues, hospitality environments, and community-focused initiatives.

As a lifelong resident of southeastern Connecticut, I bring a deep appreciation for the region’s communities, waterfronts, businesses, historic assets, and natural landscapes. That local knowledge allows me to create imagery that feels authentic while supporting broader marketing and communication goals.

Today, I work with clients throughout the Northeast to produce photography used across websites, social media, annual reports, marketing campaigns, publications, presentations, and economic development initiatives. My focus is simple: create professional, polished photography that reflects the character of a place, the mission of an organization, and the people who make it unique.

I am available for project-based assignments, contract work, and long-term photography partnerships.

If you would like to discuss a project, I would welcome the opportunity to connect.
